Mike Booth to Lead In-House Game Development Studio
Bad Robot Games Announces Internal Game Development Studio Headed by Industry Veteran Mike Booth
This Addition Marks The Expansion Into Original Titles, With Booth Building Out A World Class Team
Bad Robot Games, the video game division of JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot, has launched an in-house game development studio, Bad Robot Games Studios, and appointed industry veteran Mike Booth as the general manager. Booth was most recently the social VR director at Facebook and behind hits such as survival horror game Left 4 Dead. He also was a founder of Turtle Rock Studios and brings more than two decades of experience to his role as general manager.
Booth will report to Bad Robot Games CEO, Anna Sweet, the former Valve, Facebook Oculus and Caffeine executive.
“Mike is one of the most accomplished game developers in the world and he is constantly looking for ways to advance and innovate to help deliver the most compelling experiences to players” said Sweet.
Bad Robot Games Studios will create gaming destinations whose worlds and stories can live across multiple mediums, with the goal of making them as much fun to watch as they are to play. Booth is currently building out a world-class, diverse creative development team to develop an original AAA game for PC/console platforms for Bad Robot as well as for future titles. The AAA game will immerse both players and streaming audiences into a co-op cinematic experience.

Bad Robot Games will also develop original properties in collaboration with Abrams’ film and television departments and is uniquely positioned to utilize Bad Robot's network of artists, with vast areas of expertise and perspectives across industries to create truly innovative games.
