SILENT HILL: Ascension Premieres Today

Bad Robot Games’ Contributions to the Spine- Chilling Monsters, Soundscape and More

Today is an exciting day! Not only is it Halloween, but it's also the premiere of the thrilling interactive series that we collaborated on with Genvid Entertainment, Konami Digital Entertainment, and Behaviour Interactive -SILENT HILL: Ascension

A big focus for our team was to be entirely authentic to the eerie, unsettling, and surreal art and sound design that Silent Hill is known for, while also working to set this project apart from anything the franchise has ever seen before.

Our team led the art direction for the monsters, including the concepts, designs, and modeling. We also directed the art direction for the environments, starting with concepts and eventually the designs and layouts.

We were heavily inspired by each character's core traumas and individual struggles, manifesting as brutal, dangerous metaphoric physical traits. The nature and appearance of these monsters are also linked to their surroundings, which at times can create an incredibly horrifying visual contrast. Catch a glimpse of one of the monsters you may encounter, below.

We also worked to create a compelling aural landscape that delivers a bold sense of emotion, depth of world, and shades of psychological terror. We wanted the aural experience for viewers to reflect the bleak and strange world while also being grounded and still familiar - reflecting emotion, feeling, and meaning.

We hope you join us in this uniquely terrifying experience tonight at 6:00pm PT by downloading the SILENT HILL: Ascension app on Google Play or the App Store or tune in at Ascension.com. After the premiere, you can return to the mobile streaming app or Ascension.com anytime to watch the latest scenes on-demand, solve puzzles, and participate in story decisions.

You can help write the first chapters of this interactive experience by visiting Ascension.com and following Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and X.
